As the name suggests the Australian Cattle dog is a herding breed used to drive cattle over long distances, still used for this today.
The Australian Cattle dog is highly intelligent and will do well in agility and obedience classes.
The breed thoroughly enjoy having a job to do and being part of family activities, if the job is part of the family activities even better.
The Australian Cattle Dog is classed as a high energy working class dog, if not give a job to do they will entertain themselves!
The breed love their family members but will attach themselves more to one person in particular.
Life span: 12 – 15 years
Origin: Australian
