Description given on Youtube:
From men with sythes cutting the crop (reap), tieing the sheaves and hand thrashing, to the 1960’s International 431 combine harvester, this is The History Of Wheat Harvesting.
This was the grand pageant at Guernsey’s West Show 2011. Unfortunately the horse drawn wheat harvesting era was missed out as there were no suitable horses or horse equipped trailed implements available.
The West Show is a local countryside show where farm animals and produce are displayed and judged and where local buisnesses show off and sell their products.
