THE COLONIAL SHOW is a complete interactive educational show that allows children to experience what life was like back in the Colonial Times, during the Colonisation of Australia. With authentic equipment, real-life anecdotes, songs and events from the past, the Colonial Show is not only a must for all students learning about Australia History, it is a must – see performance based on the audience interactive entertainment component that just completes the learning outcomes of this unit for teachers.
The whole day event is a perfect performance and resource which gives students an opportunity to interact with characters and experience life in Sydney Town in the early Colony of New South Wales 1788 – 1809 whichi is no longer accessible.
Schools, children, students and teacher will have exclusive, almost never before seen access to the nation’s fledgling beginnings as a penal colony. The educational show is based on the Learning Outcomes of the Unit — “British Colonisation in Australia”, Stage 2 in the Human Society and Its Environment (HSIE) Syllabus. This educational show can ALSO be incorporated in the (COGS.) Connected Outcomes Group Support Curriculum. While the show is aimed at Years 3 and 4 it is suitable for the entire primary school. The educational show allows students to participate as the colonial time span comes alive with authentic props and professional actors.
