This film was created during a collaborative project between CSIRO and Aboriginal rangers, organizations and community people from five locations in Queensland and the Northern Territory.

‘Unwelcome Strangers’ focuses on weed issues faced by Arrarnta people in central Australia. However, the video also shows how each group at the different locations is confronted by invading plants that threaten cultural, environmental, economic, and social values. It shows the commitment and approaches taken by Aboriginal people, especially the critical work of Aboriginal rangers.

But sugarcane requires a year to grow and large amount of irrigation water and maize also requires a fair amount of water. Sweet sorghum is similar to grain sorghum but with sugar-rich stalks and the ability to use water efficiently. sweet sorghum has shot into prominence because of its competitiveness as a major feed stock for bio-ethanol production.
The present video is based on the process and use of Sweet sorghum as an important Bio-ethanol crop.
