Surviving Outdoors Solo for 67 Days

October 7, 2017 By Editor

Description given on Youtube:
Andrew Ucles survived 67 days in the Australian outback solo – Ucles reflects back on how someone with limited resources and strong outdoor survival skills can survive within the remoteness of the Australian Outback.

From hunting down food items to preparing bush foods for consumption. Wilderness survival skills are key when dealing within this type of situation using such skills such as fire-making, shelter construction, primitive weapons, snaring, survival kits, water procurement, and survival psychology to to avoid unpleasant interactions with animals and plants, cure any present injuries and to survive another day.

I had set the timeline of 100 days to survive in the Australian Bushland living solely off what I could find in the landscape. Taking only just the necessities including; a billy can, knife, lighter, tent and emergency beacon I set off for a remote location in the North Western part of NSW along the Murray Darling river system. My intent was to spread a message of conservation to the Australian public about feral animals and their devastating effect upon native wildlife and the environment.
