Wheat Belly-Wheat is no longer wheat
Description given on Youtube:
Wheat is no longer wheat. I call it “Frankengrain,” the altered product of decades of genetics research to generate a high-yield plant. It’s effects on consuming humans is largely due to the incredible biochemical changes that have resulted.

There are so many crop losses happening globally, but the media focuses for less than a millisecond and back on to the next propaganda story. This is a list of losses I have been watching over the last month, Georgia peach crop loss, S.E. USA peach crop loss, fruit losses in USA and Europe, chickpea crop in Canada, frozen corn on the stalks in late June in the Dakotas, frost, hail, wind and drought seem to be the common theme globally this year. Asia and Australia are experiencing losses as well. Watch your food price skyrocket by the end of 2017, and the media will still be asking why instead of covering the effects of the intensifying grand solar minimum.

Pimp your brain: From einkorn to wheat
Description given on Youtube:
We all know that wheat is used to bake bread, and durum wheat is used to make pasta. But who knows that wheat originated long, long ago from wild grass species in the Middle East? In this “pimp your brain” episode, Kathleen Dahncke from the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Plant Physiology in Golm, Germany, explains why there are six sets of chromosomes in wheat and what they tell us about the evolution and domestication of this important crop plant.
If you want to learn more about the origin, breeding and production of crops or current topics in plant research, you can register from May to October at the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Plant Physiology for our “Komm ins Beet – Come in the (flower)bed”-tours: http://www.komm-ins-beet.mpg.de/
In the video serial “Pimp your brain” scientists from the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Plant Physiology describe important methods and results of their research. More videos from the ‘Pimp your brain’ serial are available on www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-l9VItC9Gn2Ur2Xj6PTOAkjLUlVPbIOO
The Monsanto Protection Act? Debate On Controversial Measure Over Genetically Modified Crops. 2 of 2
Description given on Youtube:
http://www.democracynow.org – President Obama outraged food activists last week when he signed into law a spending bill with a controversial rider that critics have dubbed the “Monsanto Protection Act.” The rider says the government must allow the planting of genetically modified crops even if courts rule they pose health risks. The measure has galvanized the U.S. food justice movement, which is now preparing for its next fight when the provision expires in six months. We host a discussion on the “Monsanto Protection Act” and the safety of genetically modified foods with two guests: Gregory Jaffe, director of the Biotechnology Project at the Center for Science in the Public Interest, a non-profit consumer advocacy organization that addresses food and nutrition issues; and Wenonah Hauter, executive director of Food & Water Watch and author of the book, “Foodopoly: The Battle Over the Future of Food and Farming in America.” On Wednesday, Hauter’s group is releasing a major new report called, “Monsanto: A Corporate Profile.”

This Common Backyard Weed Cures Skin Cancers & Warts
Description given on Youtube:
In this video I will show you a common weed that can be found in most backyards throughout the world. The milky sap can be dabbed on to skin cancers and warts as a natural and free cure.
Basal cell carcinomas and squamous cell carcinomas are the most common human cancers, and most Australians will develop one or more of these during their lifetime. In Queensland, the mortality rate is about 50 per cent.
Petty spurge is a common weed mainly found in southern Queensland, but it will grow anywhere the seed falls and thrives in areas that are shaded and well watered. It is suitable for anyone to grow, even in the smallest of gardens. It closely resembles scarlet pimpernel and chickweed, and is also known around the world as the radium plant, or milkweed.
Dab the milky sap on affected areas twice a day and allow it to air dry. Before long the area will turn very red and possibly scab over. Continue treatment until the signs of the infection or cancer have cleared up.
This should not replace the [potential need for professional medical care. Do some more of your own research on Petty Spurge before trying this home remedy
How to cultivate Sorghum
Description given on Youtube:
How sorghum is cultivated in India.
Season of cultivation: Single-cut and dual-purpose types are concentrated in kharif, while multi cut types are best exploited during summer (Jan-Feb. sowing). Seed rate and spacing: In order to get higher biomass production from all forage varieties, they need to be sown densely at 30 X 10 cm spacing using a seed rate of 20 –25 kg/ha. Fertilizer management: The fertilizer schedule for sorghum is 80:40:40 (NPK) with two splits of N, one at basal and the other at 30 DAS. In case of multi-cut types, a 30 kg/ha N after each cut followed by irrigation is recommended.
Kharif Sorghum
Seed-bed preparation: Sorghum requires a well prepared seed
Planting time: Sowing of sorghum should be undertaken with the onset of monsoon. Dry sowing about one week in advance of monsoon (firm forecast) is also practiced in black cotton soils.
Early maturing: CSH 23, Medium duration: CSH 16, CSH 18, CSH 21
Varieties: CSV 17 , CSV 20
Hybrids: Seed rate, spacing and plant density: The optimum plant population depends upon the available moisture, soil fertility status and morphology of genotypes being cultivated.
The optimum plant population recommended is 1,80,000 plants/ha. This can be achieved by using 8 kg seed and planting at 45 cm x 12.5 cm or 60 cm X 9.5 cm.
Fertilizer management: Application of 10 tons/ha FYM at the last ploughing and 40 kg
N /ha fertilizer is advised. In the absence of FYM, 80 kg of N and 40 kg P2O5/hectare is recommended. One half i.e 40 kg N and full P2O5 is to be applied at sowing, while remaining 40 kg N is to be applied 30-40 days after sowing. In case of light soils with low rainfall, 60kg N and 30 kg P2O5 is recommended.
Weed management:
Timely sowing of crop to minimize crop weed competition. Proper spacing to facilitate inter weeding operation. Keep the field free from weeds.
Inter cultivation : Two weeding with one shallow hoeing up to 3 weeks after sowing will keep the field free from weeds. To check severe weed infestation apply Atrazine @ 0.5 kg a.i. per ha followed by hand weeding within three weeks of sowing.
Harvesting: Ideally Kharif sorghum should be harvested at its physiological maturity to avoid grain mold damage.
