Creation, Genesis and Origins #6 Irrigating the Garden

August 19, 2017 By Editor

Description given on Youtube:
Due to the mention of farming, livestock, tents, stringed musical instruments and artifacts made of copper and iron in Genesis 4, Adam has credibility as a real-life, historical individual living in the Neolithic (10,000 to 3300 BC), or at the beginning or the Chalcolithic Period, but there is no possibility he could have been the biological progenitor of the entire human race since Homo sapiens have a 200,000 year history. Genesis tells the story of biblical peoples some of whom were ancestral to the Messiah. And the story, indeed the lineage, begins with Adam.

Apaches (1977) – [FULL VERSION]

August 18, 2017 By Editor

Description given on Youtube:
SUBTITLES AVAILABLE. Warning: contains nightmare fuel and graphic child death scenes (no, I’m not kidding).

Probably the most well-known and scariest public information film of ALL time, ‘Apaches’ was originally shown in schools on 16mm format in and around the Westward and Angelia regions of the UK, particularly those with more agricultural areas (for obvious reasons).

Prior to the film, there were around 30 deaths of young children each year due to accidents caused by playing on farms. As the ending roll shows, the year before this film was made, nearly 30 children died in accidents including being crushed by farm machinery, being killed in farm explosions, suffocating in grain pits, and being crushed by falling farm gates.

‘Apaches’ pulls no punches whatsoever in portraying the immense horror of child death due to playing on farms. And I am not over exaggerating here: this film alone managed to scare the bejeebers out of a whole generation of rural schoolchildren for an entire lifetime.

Shot fast in the February of 1977 on a home counties farm – probably in somewhere in Berkshire – ‘Apaches’ (made possible by the Health and Safety Executive) features a whole cast of six children from a Maidenhead junior school, all of whom play characters that are killed off one-by-one in tragic accidents. Such as being ran over by a tractor, drowning in a slurry pit, enduring an unimaginably slow and painful death via one’s internal organs burning from their inside-out upon drinking weedkiller, and being crushed by a falling hefty, metal farm gate. Despite the death count racking up and up, the children still continue on with their curious adventures, much like how real Apache warriors would’ve done – hence the film’s title.

As well as the graphic and stomach-churning scenes of the children dying, ‘Apaches’ also manages to give you a remarkable plot twist revealed right at the end for good measure, just in case you weren’t shocked enough: all but one of the Apache warriors die.

So wrap up warm, make a hot drink, grab yourself a bundle of snacks, sit back and (try to) relax, as I present to you the original spine-chilling PIF, “Apaches” – in sparkling HD never seen before.

See you on the other side!

This short video without dialogue shows the making of a simple damper (bread) on the beach using flour, water, a zip lock bag, a coconut and fire.
It shows fire making using the fire plough method, de-husking a coconut the island way, cracking the coconut, grating the coconut meat, milking, mixing the ingredients in a zip lock bag and baking the damper on a hot rock.

The video is presented by Gordon Dedman, founder of Bushcraft Survival Australia (BSA). Gordon has travelled extensively and completed numerous Survival and Bushcraft Courses worldwide at schools run by Ray Mears, Dave Canterbury, Lofty Wiseman and Bob Cooper.

Gordon is a former member of the Australian Army 1st Commando Regiment and is presently a survival instructor in NORFORCE, an Australian Army Reserve Regional Force Surveillance unit (RFSU).
